Connections to Science 9 Curriculum
This project is directly in dialogue with the outcomes of Unit E: Space Exploration
If we examine the focusing questions such as "How have humans attained a presence in space?"; "What technologies have been developed and on what scientific ideas are they based?"; "How has the development of these technologies contributed to the exploration, use and understanding of space and to benefits on Earth?" we can see that they work to establish a narrative about what it takes for life to travel, communicate, and propagate itself through space. Students will doubtless encounter these issues in the course of their independent research as well.

Indigenous Star Stories
Students will participate in learning about Indigenous Star Stories as a component of this unit, and throughout their individual research, which may represent a moment of co-learning with the teacher. Teachers are advised to use the resources developed by Canadian creators such as the Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre.
